Composting day at Kindlehill

June 2, 2015

Today was annual composting day at Kindlehill….lots of crunchy autumn leaves, mixed with chicken poo, veggie remains, and our delicious biodynamic compost starter. Many hands on deck to build this beautiful pile of food for the earth.

Students cooperate to build biodynamic compost, honouring their connection to the earth through shared seasonal work.

Children work as a village, nourishing the earth with compost while learning through nature, seasons, and rhythm. Kindlehill children in beanies and aprons work together, using buckets to create nourishing biodynamic compost for the earth. Kindlehill families collaboratively layer autumn leaves into a biodynamic compost pile, honouring seasonal rhythms and nourishing the earth. Kindlehill students and families work together building a large biodynamic compost pile from seasonal autumn leaves. Many hands cooperate to build a seasonal compost pile, nourishing the land through earth-centred community action.
