Child Safe Environment – Statement of Commitment

Kindlehill is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making.

Child Protection Policy

This policy has been reviewed subsequent to the introduction of new legislation known as the Children’s Guardian Act, 2019, effective from 1st March 2020.

Work Health Safety Statement

In accordance with the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the work health and safety of all persons employed within the school, students, contractors engaged to work at the school, and those visiting the school are considered to be of the utmost importance.

Directory of Mandates

The School is organised in such a way that the College of Teachers is pivotal. Why? Because, for every issue, the first and foremost question that must be asked is: “What is the best thing for the children and young people?”

Communications Protocol

Communication in the school; how do you find out what is happening around the school, about decisions that are taken and who makes them? Who do you talk to if you would like to be involved, if you have a question or concern?

Privacy & Data Retention Policy

The Privacy and Data Retention Policy sets out the practices of the School in relation to personal information. It also serves as a guide to the School’s staff as to the standards to be applied in respect of collection, destruction and storing of personal information to ensure consistency in the School’s approach to privacy.

Complaints Policy

This procedure is used for serious complaints, after the Communications Protocol has been used.

Staff Code of Conduct Policy

This procedure is used for Handling Allegations of Staff Misconduct and Reportable Conduct.

Safe & Supportive Schools Policy

These statements indicate our School’s policies and procedures in regard to providing a safe and supportive environment for students.

No Bullying Policy

This policy sets out the requirements for preventing and responding to student bullying in Kindlehill Steiner School.

Discipline Policy

Discipline is an integral part of teaching practice at Kindlehill. Guidelines for the best disciplinary practices, in accordance with the educational philosophy and vision of Kindlehill are detailed in the Positive Behaviour Policy.

Whistleblower Policy

This policy applies to Kindlehill School in protecting eligible whistleblowers and managing qualifying disclosures made regarding misconduct in relation to the school.

Mobile Phone Protocol

This protocol applies to mobile phone use at school.

Attendance Policy

This policy applies to attendance.

Excursion Policy

This policy applies to our excursions.

Enrolment Policy & Procedure

Kindlehill Steiner School is a co-educational K-10 school providing an education underpinned by Rudolf Steiner philosophy and pedagogy. It operates within the policies of NESA.

Acknowledgement of Country

Kindlehill Steiner School is situated on Dharug and Gundungurra land; we pay respects to the traditional custodians whose cultures and customs continue to nurture this land. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart, Truth telling about the impact and legacy of colonisation, a Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Australian Constitution and a process of Treaty making.
