The Kindlehill Craft Group is a welcoming space where families can connect with the life of the school through the simple and meaningful act of making with their hands.
Gathering each Monday morning, parents, carers and friends of the school work together to create beautiful and purposeful items for classrooms, children, festivals and special events, while also having the opportunity to develop their own skills and creativity. It is a time for conversation, connection and contribution; a practical expression of community in action.
In Steiner education, craft is far more than a practical skill. Through working with colour, texture, pattern and natural materials, we nurture qualities such as patience, concentration, creativity and care. Handcraft supports the healthy development of fine motor skills, aesthetic awareness, problem-solving and perseverance, while fostering a deep appreciation for beauty and purposeful work.
Just as children learn through doing, adults too can experience the satisfaction and joy that comes from creating something with thought, intention and love. The work of our Craft Group enriches the life of the school and helps create the warm, beautiful environment that is so valued at Kindlehill.
Whether you are an experienced craftsperson or simply curious to learn, you are warmly invited to join us. All families are welcome.

Children and young families are warmly welcome to join our Craft Group.
As we share our beautiful campus with school classes and teachers during the day, we ask families to be mindful of the spaces being used for learning and to help create a calm and respectful environment for everyone.
Parents and carers remain responsible for the supervision and care of their children throughout the session.
We encourage families to stay within the designated Craft Group areas, including the Playgroup Room, and to follow any guidance provided regarding the use of shared facilities such as bathrooms.
Our school is a child-friendly and nurturing place, and we are delighted to provide a space where families can connect, create, and grow together.
