Bring it to the Fire

May 12, 2025

On Saturday we had our first Bulgamatta event, where we are bringing community together around the healing of Country.
A small, but vibrant group of students, Kindlehill staff, and homeschool students, came together at Art Camp in Bell.
Around the fire, with Uncle Chris Tobin, we listened to stories from Country, then walked out to look into the majestic Bulgamatta (Mountain-water place).

The wonderful Sarah Humphrys then led us in a songwriting workshop, where we wove together our learning, reflections, observation, experience and feeling in this place.

We have the chorus to a precious song that I’m sure you will be hearing soon!

Heartfelt thanks to Sarah and Uncle Chris for their generosity. Gratitude also to the young people who came along to share the experience, and the Kindlehill staff who supported.

It was a BEAUTIFUL morning!

“I loved the song writing workshop. It was very fun! I hope it will become regular. It was very informative, and we got to write a song with Sarah”.
