Connect to Protect – the Beautiful Yes

December 9, 2024

Bulgamatta, the Grose River Valley was a spectacular backdrop to our community collaboration, Connect to Protect, on Sunday. Guided by Uncle Lex and Uncle Chris, we signed into Country and made resilient twine from the Stringy Bark tree. We also sent a collective message to our governments that we want action to end the contamination with zinc and nickel from the abandoned Canyon Colliery, into the pristine headwaters of the Grose River (Bulgamatta).  You can read the letter accompanying the petition here https://kindlehill.nsw.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/NSW-EPA-Proposal_.pdf. It’s not too late to sign the petition, find Lynn in High School.
