Autumn Fair welcomes many new faces

May 23, 2013

Kindlehill’s annual Autumn Fair attracted many new faces, with wonderful food, performances, and a positive feel of community and celebration. The day was brisk, with many fires blazing to keep everyone warm. Students of all ages performed, with Class 2/3 opening the day with an indigenous dance choreographed by Jo Clancy. Following were welcome songs sung by the whole school, and wandering minstrels and buskers, playing violin, clarinet and recorder. There was an array of unique hand made craft, with the gum-nut babies being the most popular amongst the young children!

The raffle drew a large crowd, offering a handmade doll by S’haila Bernard-Appel, prizes from Nineteen23 Restaurant, FED, Rotate Interiors, Wooldancer, Homini Bakery, Hope Tree Framing, Postinos Cafe, Rare Birds, Norm’s Village Butcher, Schwartz Bakery, The Little Flower Shop, Canton Palace, D’Vine Cellars, The WWF Veggie Patch, Sunshine Hair Studio, Blue Mist Cafe and Lamdha Books. What an amazing show of support from local businesses!

The Autumn Fair is organised and hosted by the Kindlehill parent community. There is an exceptional amount of work required in the lead-up, on the day, and in post-event follow up. It is all worthwhile – new parents make new friends, old parents renew friendships and guide the way for new families.
