Year 7 have been making beautiful sterling silver rings in Metal Technology Jewellery this term using our brilliant new texturing hammer which has a variety of designs to choose from. Students are well on their way to completing their pieces and either wearing them or gifting them to family members.
In the photo, these three rings just need further sanding and polishing to be completed. Jack’s ring at the bottom has an almost snake-skin pattern, whereas the irregular linear pattern of Sage’s ring seems inspired by the textures of bark or water. Matilda’s ring at the top can either be polished until glossy or textured with a small ball pein hammer to create a mottled finish after sanding. I’m so impressed with the students’ stunning creations!
