Kindlehill is situated in the village of Wentworth Falls, in the Blue Mountains. These are the traditional lands of Gundungurra and Dharug peoples. Approximately 10 minutes walk from Wentworth Falls Station, the school grounds are nestled amongst residential bush blocks. The path of the original convict-built Cox’s Road, the first road across the Great Dividing Range, runs by the school. Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson camped a night on the edge of the school grounds. Wentworth Falls Lake, originally built to service the steam trains, is a short stroll down the road, and is the focus of many school lessons. The lake is the home to the Giant Dragonfly, is a meeting place for locals throughout the year, and a provides a great swimming location when school days warm up.
Younger children generally travel by private car, with car- pooling common between parents travelling from other villages. Many older students travel by train to Kindlehill, and walk approximately 10 minutes from Wentworth Falls Station to school. Public bus services run up and down the mountain and are operated by Blue Mountains Bus Company.
