About Sarah Daniel High School Geography Teacher

Sarah has a B. Arts (UN) and a Master of Teaching (UNE). She works both as a teacher and as student support throughout the school.
“One of the most exciting things when working to support students, is when they find something that they are passionate about, that they really connect to. Finding ways to support their engagement and the depth of their learning is incredibly rewarding. As a teacher, it is a pleasure to be working in an environment where creativity, critical thinking and a real sense of love for the world is valued and imbues all you do”.

Listen and you will SEE: Geography on the Road 2025

in High School News

This year, we began our geography on the road camp with the story of the Yuin Abalone diver. When first diving for abalone, to the diver abalone are almost invisible. There on the rock shelves and reefs they disguise themselves, camouflaged with seaweeds and barnacles so they look like to stone they cling to. The […]

The Shared Meal

in High School News

In High School options we have been exploring the power of the shared meal. What better way to nourish ourselves, friends and communities than through a nutritious homecooked meal. We have worked in groups of 5 to plan a series of meals for 6 people that cost under $20, with one portion being a gift […]

Planetary Health Initiative

in High School News

Last week year 9-10 started our practical project volunteering for the Planetary Health Initiative as part of our geography unit on climate change. When I started thinking of this unit, I admit I felt a bit tentative. The response in myself to the thought of climate change brings up feelings of overwhelm and fear, and […]

High School Winter Solstice Camp

in High School News

What better way to acknowledge the solstice than to spend time on Country with Uncle Lex? Ceremony and culture shared, lanterns created, food shared around the fire, stories told, and a cold night endured. I woke to a frozen tent and a world of mist rising from the river, the sunrise colouring the sky as […]

On Saturday we had our first Bulgamatta event, where we are bringing community together around the healing of Country.A small, but vibrant group of students, Kindlehill staff, and homeschool students, came together at Art Camp in Bell.Around the fire, with Uncle Chris Tobin, we listened to stories from Country, then walked out to look into […]

Class 8 Kangaroo Valley Canoe Camp

in High School News

Imagine paddling across a glossy river the world carefully reproduced upside down, the moonlight shimmering on the water next to your camp while you share your meal, waking to mist rising from the valley… These are just a few of the beautiful moments from our recent canoe camp at Kangaroo Valley. My favourite part was […]

Year 7 Geography on the Road Camp

in High School News

It’s hard to put into words how BIG and AMAZING the geography on the road camp is. So instead, I’ll just share a couple of moments.  My heart sings with the gift of country and the privilege of teaching from country. Walking with young people can only light a fire of love for the world […]
