Last Thursday, the whole school marked the equinox with a heartfelt celebration of the importance of rivers in our lives. At lunchtime, we raised some money for Water for Wilcannia, with a gold coin donation for Cockatoo Bakery bread and Kindlehill honey! We also took the opportunity to celebrate Harmony Day and Downs Syndrome Day, with a lovely song for our special Lulu and Gitai, and their families. On Thursday, the sun crossed the equator for the northern hemisphere, the moon was in fullness and the closest it has been to earth for 100 years. Through these seasonal celebrations, we attune ourselves and our community to the sacred in nature and to each other.
