Class 1-2 had a fun filled and sleepover in the classroom of class 3-4 last Thursday night. It was a memorable experience for all the children. The afternoon started with after-school play as the anticipation rose through a wet afternoon. Then it was time for the kids to show their perseverance and teamwork by setting up their sleeping arrangements for the night. This is no easy task and for some this was their first time, and they showed tremendous enthusiasm and teamwork to support each other.
The evening continued with games, songs and most importantly lots of delicious and varied food from our wonderful kitchen crew of parents and carers. When it was lights out time, the children snuggled into their sleeping bags and heard the story of Maui, his magic necklace and his ability to tame the sun. As they drifted off quietly and peacefully, the adults in the room also joined them and we all had a restful slumber. The children loved the sleepover, so much so that they raised their hands enthusiastically when asked if they’d like to stay for another night!
This was a great bonding experience for the children and great preparation for our term 4 camping sleepover. We would like to thank the parents and carers wholeheartedly for their time and efforts.
