The theme for NAIDOC this year is “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak Loud and Proud”.
The Blue Mountains Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre, in partnership with and the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, will be hosting “Fire Within”. An exhibition to celebrate NAIDOC 2024. The exhibition will run from 29th June until 11th August 2024 with a free community day featuring a Fire Within community art project at the Makers Trolley, smoking ceremony and welcome, dance performances and drop-in weaving workshops. Stop by to view the exhibition and keep an eye out for Kindlehill alumnus Marvin, Viv and Gabby Cornish’s artwork.
To celebrate NAIDOC Week the Blue Mountains City Art Gallery will have free entry from 6th – 14th July.

After extensive experience with Barnardos Australia, Erica joined the teaching profession in 2004, focusing for many years on high school teaching for young people with behavioural issues not able to be in mainstream classes. Erica joined Kindlehill School in 2009. She has a B. Arts ( Hons) (USYD) and a Master of Teaching (UWS).
