Kindy – Busy Bees

June 2, 2026

Kindy recently celebrated World Bee Day. We considered all that the bee’s gift to us, warmth, healing, medicine, sunshine and sweet music. It was a sweet, sweet day in Kindy, warm and safe within our own little hive. There are so many elements of the hive that I see reflected in Kindy. The children are always busy, they gather, they dance and they sing. They work together to make the hive warm, and they care for one another with each little movement. Sometimes we can get a little crowded and our wings bump a friend, but we are learning to stop, check in with the friend and offer a sorry, even if it was an accident. Our Kindy hive truly is a place of kindness, wisdom and learning.
Did you know:

Bees are the superpowers of pollinating.

There are 20,000 types of bees in the world?

Bees are very social and live in large groups (just like the Kindy child)

A single worker bee only makes 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her whole life (never waste a drop!)

Honey never spoils. Honey has been found from over 3,000 years ago and it is still safe to eat.

The queen bee helps to regulate the bees, and the busy bees sing and dance for her (Just like our Kindy)

They dance to communicate (also like the Kindy child)

What would life be without the sweet bees?
