Watercolour Journeys with Sarah Leibman

June 23, 2025

Over term 2, Class 4-5 were very fortunate to be able to participate in a series of watercolour workshops with local artist and Kindlehill parent, Sarah Leibman. Sarah generously shared her expertise as a professional artist, guiding the children through a rich artistic process that wove together observation, imagination, and technique. From sketching scenes inspired by Oceans (the David Attenborough movie), to capturing the layered beauty of Govett’s Leap and painting the winter night sky, the children explored their unique perspective through colour and form.

These sessions connected the children to their inner world, the rhythms of nature, and the wisdom of an artistic mentor from their community. Through washes of colour, charcoal sketches, and joyful experiments with salt and starlight, the children deepened not only their artistic skills but also their sense of wonder and connection.

We are so grateful to Sarah for the care and creativity she brought to each lesson. Their winter sky artworks were on display in the performance space for Winter’s Night.
