Class 3 – 4 Handwork

March 20, 2024

This term in Class 3 – 4, we have had the privilege of working with Kiara to make some gorgeous felt dolls. The children have designed and begun to sew their very own unique dolls, and each doll is taking on its own character stitch-by-stich. Handwork is a core part of the Steiner curriculum and supports the children to find joy in creating things that are both useful and beautiful. Handwork builds on hand-eye coordination, self-confidence, patience, perseverance, focus, creativity, and resourcefulness. I have enjoyed listening to the children excitedly plan out which accessories their dolls will need to have and how to make them. I’m sure that they can’t wait to show off their completed dolls at the end of the Term.
