Blue Mountain Permaculture Meeting with Charlie McGee

June 12, 2024

Gardening in times of drought, pandemics or war rejects the chaos and affirms human perseverance. Gardens are psychologically optimistic signs of regenerative spirit…They restore the makers as much as they restore the landscape.

Rosemary Morrow

Last week, Senior School students enjoyed the funky permaculture tunes of Charlie McGee at the Blue Mountains Permaculture meeting.

Rowe Morrow introduced the evening, having just returned from refugee camps in Bangladesh. Every time I hear her speak it is a sobering reminder of how difficult life is for so many. Rowe is practical. Permaculture works. Hence I am sharing her inspiring quote relevant for us all.

Rose and Piper enjoyed catching up with Rowe who is one of the wise elders they interviewed last term as part of their Problems that Matter, community engagement project.

The very next day, they were in Sydney for the U.N. Youth Oceans Carnival, a conference bringing together youth from all across Sydney and regions, to engage with issues relating to conserving and restoring oceans.
