2026 Term 2: Mon 20th Apr - Fri 26th June

Class 8 Water Camp

June 4, 2026

What an adventure we’ve been on! We finished our journey, following the path of water from Mountain to sea. We kayaked on lakes. The ocean we were met with was wild and powerful. We have walked the wild shores, climbed up to a Birds Eye view with White Belly Sea Eagle, then tumbled down giant dunes.

I’m super impressed by their resilience and capacity to find sunshine through the rain, their care for each other and ….

They can put up a 6 x 6 m tarp in the dark as a team (with minimal teacher support)! Quite something for a bunch of 13-14year olds!

A big thank you to families for their support and flexibility needed with the inclement weather.

Here is our collaborative poem written from under the drippy tarp in the rainforest:

Water rushes over moss covered stones,
Swift flowing,
Strong steam, rough rapids, cutting and carving around steady rocks,
Cycling though everything.
The calm pitter-patter against the tarp feels like home.
