I warmly welcome you to Kindlehill School. In the heart of the beautiful Blue Mountains, on a hill above Wentworth Falls Lake, we are an independent school, working creatively and in a contemporary way, out of the foundation of Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy for education.
At Kindlehill we believe education is a social deed. Since the foundation of the School in 2000, our purpose has been to educate children and young people to be powerfully equipped in becoming individuals who contribute to creating a more compassionate and fair society for all.
From Playgroup through to High School (Year 10) Kindlehill provides a caring, nurturing and safe environment for students to learn, to grow, to flourish and to become active members of the local and wider communities.
Each year we choose a whole School focus such as protecting local endangered species, and supporting the Uluru Statement from the Heart. We launched 2020 in the thematic context of Necessary Traditions. The intention is to explore and restore to our lives those skills and tools that were once necessary to our living together as a society, and that lie historically and culturally behind the skills and tools that are taken for granted today. This theme continues in 2021 in addition to Kindlehill celebrating 21 years.
One of my roles as Principal is mentoring teachers in their important work of engaging all children and young people in their learning. Allow us to show you our teachers at their shiniest; creative, resourceful, empathetic and going well past the extra mile!
At Kindlehill there is LOVE in abundance around the children and young people in our school environment. We teachers can’t always solve every issue, we don’t always perfectly manage every moment, but for every child and young person, there is unfailing dedication and care.
Kindlehill is like a flourishing garden. Every one of the flowers and fruits growing here, is laden with seeds in abundance that will germinate and be productive in the wider world garden.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Kindlehill.
Lynn Daniel
