High School Textiles

February 11, 2026

As part of our elective ‘Options’ program, High School students from Years 8-10 can now choose to do textiles.

Using gorgeous upcycled and new fabrics, students have started making lined satchels to sell at Marrickville Markets in Sydney next month, where we will travel to promote our High School. And the best bit? Students earn money from whatever they sell!

If you have any fabric squirrelled away that you’re not sure what to do with, we’d love to upcycle it for our next projects: bunting, cushion covers and ‘Etsy’ dolls/creatures!

A Kindlehill student meticulously marks fabric for satchels, transforming upcycled textiles into meaningful handcrafted creations through purposeful work.
