Under the beautiful winter sunshine, our community gathered this morning to celebrate the official opening of our new Primary School entrance. We were honoured to welcome Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman, State Member for the Blue Mountains Trish Doyle, architect Nigel Bell, and teacher and artist Adam Alcorn, who designed the beautiful front doors.
The ceremony opened with songs of peace and connection to Country from our Primary School students. Ms Templeman, Australia’s Special Envoy for the Arts, spoke of the vital role schools like Kindlehill play in nurturing and preserving the arts within our community.
Principal Erica reflected on the wattle featured on the new doors, noting its unique ability to return nitrogen to the earth. In the same spirit, Kindlehill seeks to give back to our own community by nurturing children through a nourishing and enriching education.
Following the ceremony, Year 6 students served morning tea to guests and families, while Trish Doyle, a former Kindlehill casual teacher, visited the newly refurbished basketball court funded by the State Government.
It was a joyful and heartfelt way to welcome this beautiful new space into the life of the School.

Kindlehill School is a K-10 Steiner School that sits on a hill above the Wentworth Falls Lake, in the Blue Mountains, NSW. We are an independant school working creatively and in a contemporary way, out of the foundation of Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy for education.
