2026 Term 2: Mon 20th Apr - Fri 26th June

High School Winter Solstice Camp

June 27, 2025

What better way to acknowledge the solstice than to spend time on Country with Uncle Lex?

Ceremony and culture shared, lanterns created, food shared around the fire, stories told, and a cold night endured. I woke to a frozen tent and a world of mist rising from the river, the sunrise colouring the sky as we stoked the fire. There were pancakes cooked on the BBQ and hot chocolate to warm us, before heading to the kangaroo rock to listen to stories and Country.

There is so much to learn from listening, listening to the Elders around us, listening to Country. I came away with a feeling of renew connection, I hope the young folk did too!

Acknowledgement of Country

Kindlehill Steiner School is situated on Dharug and Gundungurra land; we pay respects to the traditional custodians whose cultures and customs continue to nurture this land. We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart, Truth telling about the impact and legacy of colonisation, a Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Australian Constitution and a process of Treaty making.
