Class 7 Geography on the Road

November 9, 2023

We stood in 20,000 year old footprints, saw the bones of ancient wombats and fossilised trees, and heard stories of 45,000 years of culture, connection and adaptation.

We sat under the canopy of Gondwana rainforest, touched spongy soil and watched moss sparkle.

We threw ourselves into the mighty Ocean and felt our power against that mammoth force. We climbed mountains to find expansive vistas and insect hatches.

We fell asleep whispering to our friends, cooked for each other, cared for each other, and spoke vulnerably of our strengths, challenges and hopes. We had a conversation with everyone! And we covered a lot of k’s in the bus!

I asked, how do you feel after three weeks of camp? The reply was, we can’t wait for the next one!!! Nothing like geography on the road to experience the sacredness of country and the wonder of the world around and within us!
