Open Day Exhibition and Presentation – High School

November 22, 2022

On Open Day, High School had lots going on in the Art Studio. An art exhibition showcasing Years 7-10 was on display, and included artworks in watercolour, pencil, charcoal, ink and pastel, as well as lino prints. Several of Class 9 -10’s mixed media portraits, which are works in progress, were also showcased, as were zines (mini-magazines) created by Class 7-8.

At midday, Class 9-10 presented their Necessary Traditions projects, an individual creative task where students research, develop, produce and present a work incorporating theoretical, artistic and practical components. Students presented their Learning Journals which included sketches and images that had captured and reflected their learning and creative processes throughout the project’s evolution. Student projects included upcycled weaving, building a pizza oven, fixing up a neglected Vespa and even producing a music CD!  Alina of Year 9 launched her album ‘Say My Name’ and also performed a powerful acoustic song.
